Decorating ideas for an inspired Santa-themed entryway.
I pulled together a fun Christmas Santa display for our foyer this year and
absolutely love how it turned out!
In general, tabletop and bookcase decorating are the hardest for me to get
right. I find it much easier to decorated smaller spots, especially for the
holidays.
Usually I'm overwhelmed by all of the display space our
long Everett entryway table
has. Last year I just lined up our cute lighted village:
And it was very pretty! But I wanted to do something a little more
Christmasy this time.
This year I decided to place the DIY wood "believe" sign
I made a few years ago on the bottom shelf.
Each letter is individual and I made them to stand up, so I spread them out
along the bottom and then added some small decor accents like greenery and
pinecones:
It was after I got these letters set up that this theme came to me -- I
wanted to do a "Believe in Santa" inspired display.
I had so much fun pulling this together!
On a recent antiquing trip, I found these big brass bells that I laid
throughout the greenery:

I was looking specifically for a standing brass bell to use in the display,
and was thrilled when I came across one while antiquing as well:
I know some like the worn, antiqued look of brass, but I prefer to clean it
up and give it some shine! I used
my favorite brass cleaning method
and it turned out absolutely beautiful!:
I imagine Santa's bell would be bright and shiny, right? :)
You can find tons of inexpensive and beautiful holiday themed art on Etsy --
this image of Santa reading
is what I printed out for this display.
If you have a great printer, you could easily print this at home.
I print mine at CVS for a few bucks -- they always have coupon codes for discounts too!
That
black tabletop easel the Santa print sits in is one of my favorite decor pieces -- it's so
versatile and looks great anywhere I put it.
We've had this
cute Letters to Santa display box
for years, and it came in a metallic bronze tone:
It just wasn't hitting right for me in that color, so I gave it a little
makeover with some black spray paint:
I liked the brass knob, so I kept it as it was.
The box needed some dimension, so I grabbed my
gold Rub n Buff
and used it to highlight the letters:
What a difference it made! I absolutely love it now.
How could I create a Santa display without including my own letter to
Santa? The experience of
finding my own letter to Santa Claus
in a book (more than 30 year later) was super special:
I highly recommend that book for yourself or as a gift. It includes hundreds
of letters sent to the town of Santa Claus (right here in Indiana), from each decade as far back as the
1930's.
It is now one of my most treasured pieces!
Months ago I saw a gorgeous rattan sleigh online (I found mine at Antique
Farmhouse), and thought it was such a unique find.
I ordered it and then everywhere I looked there were wicker sleighs. Haha!
This is an ongoing occurrence with my Christmas decor this year. ;) They are
very popular this season, for good reason.
Ours is loaded up with a couple of the
pretty Christmas decor finds
I shared a few weeks ago. I used the soft, flowy greenery from that post,
and then nestled in some of the wood and brass bells:
Find that cute felted Santa here. |
If you're looking for a larger sleigh like this, I found
this natural rattan sleigh
that is a little more rustic but looks to be a similar size.
It all came together so beautifully! We love this sweet Christmas
display:
Oh, I forgot about the cute Santa boots! It got a little busy to include
those on the table, but they look great on the floor too:
I also had one my husband's old pipes propped on the stack of books, but it
was getting lost on the display. I needed to reel it in a little anyway. 😂
I'm so happy with how this Santa set up came together! I don't usually do
themed decor, but it's definitely my favorite Christmas decor ever:
