My 25 MOST USEFUL Amazon products. {Amazon Prime days!}

July 15, 2024

Twenty-five of my favorite and most useful home and beauty Amazon products.

It's that magical time of year yet again, Amazon Prime Days! There are always some great deals, but I like to round up and share some of my favorites every year instead.

Last year I gathered 30 of my favorite Amazon items under $30. This year I decided to put together a list of my most useful finds from Amazon. I've been writing down my favorites for a few weeks now.

I start my holiday shopping during Prime Days, and it's so nice to get some items off of my list early. Most of these items would make great gifts for loved ones.

A lot of these products are what I would call "things you didn't know you needed." 😊 I'm including a mix of home, DIY and beauty products in this round up.

1. Disposal brush for sink

Ummmm...have you ever cleaned out the underside of your garbage disposal gasket? 😵 If not, I'm warning you to be prepared for what you'll see when you use this garbage disposal brush:

Nasty! It also works to help clean out any gunk in between your disposal blades.

When you clean your disposal gasket with this, pull the brush out slowly to prevent the grody stuff from splattering everywhere. You're welcome.

2. Art and photo portfolios (Prime Day deal!)

A few years ago I went through all of our photos, memorabilia and kid's artwork and organized everything into these awesome art and photo portfolios (I share all of the different sizes in that post):
art photo portfolios

They work beautifully to organize and protect everything from school artwork to large photographs. I labeled the front of each one and now we can easily find and access all of these wonderful memories!

3. A safe box cutter (Prime Day deal!)

This gadget is one of our most used purchases...funny how the smallest things are the best!

This safe box cutter has a ceramic blade, so you don't have to worry about accidentally slicing yourself when opening packages:
box cutter no blade

SO much safer than scissors or a razor blade! It's great for breaking down boxes for recycling as well.

We use this numerous times a week to open boxes, packages and plastic.

4. Booster fan for floor registers (Prime Day deal!)

Our bedroom has always been five to ten degrees warmer than the rest of the house and none of the experts can figure out why. (It made sense when our bedroom was over the garage, but in this house it's on the main level.)

A neighbor recommended one of these booster fans for the floor register and it has really helped to cool the room down at night.

We actually got ours from Menard's, but the one on Amazon has better reviews. I plan to get this one for the second register in our room. The booster also helps to warm up a room in the colder months!

5. Roll up drying rack

This roll up dish drying rack is great for laying out dishes so they dry quicker. I also use it after washing fruits and veggies. It allows for more air circulation, so items dry quicker than those at the bottom of the sink.

It easily rolls up so it's out of the way if needed:

They come in all kinds of different finishes to match your sink. I think it looks pretty sharp! The ends are covered with silicon so it won't scratch your countertop and the metal does not rust.

6. Itty bitty spatulas (Prime Day deal!)

Years ago I shared how I get the very last bit out of our food and toiletry products.  I included these tiny spatulas that continue to be SO useful around the house!

I use them to get every little bit out of jars, like jelly and peanut butter. They're also great for lotions and makeup:

I HATE wasting anything. I've noticed there are usually many uses left at the bottom, especially with makeup and lotions.

These teeny tiny spatulas come with a longer version as well, so you can get into larger products.

7. Fast portable phone charger (Prime Day deal!)

I bought these FAST portable chargers recently to replace all of ours that didn't hold a charge anymore.

They are awesome! The charge is so fast and the paw print on the front shows you how much power is left:

So cute! :) It also has a flashlight option and comes with a little storage pouch.

8. Best pet hair roller

If you have pets this one is a must have!

This "chom chom" pet hair roller works so well to clean up stubborn dog and cat hair on furniture:

It also works to remove lint from clothes. (Try it on lamp shades too!)

You roll it back and forth and the hair gets trapped inside till you're ready to dispose of it. It's easy to use and works incredibly well!

9. Perfect pressure washer (Prime Day deal!)

If you've never used a power washer and seen the satisfying cleaning action, you must look it up on YouTube. SO calming.

You don't need a big and bulky washer to get the job done -- I found a smaller pressure washer that works GREAT. I use it every spring on our walkways and it makes the concrete look brand new.

I also use it on our outdoor furniture and rugs. Just look at the difference:

See how well this works here

Satisfying! It's easy to use and also has an option to add soap so you can wash items as well.

10. Wine remover spray

If you've been reading for a while you know how much I love this spray. I've only mentioned it 500 times. But this stuff is magic

If you're a red wine lover like we are, this red wine stain remover is a must have:

You have to see it work to understand why I love it so much. I showed you how I've used this wine stain remover on our white sofas -- it's amazing!

11. Handheld trim cutter

These small handheld miter shears are perfect for the DIYer who is obsessed with adding trim around the house, like me!

It's great for smaller wood and lighter trim -- just adjust the angle you need and squeeze to cut. It saves me SO much time running out to the compound miter saw in the garage.

I recently used it to cut wine corks for our wine cork accent wall as well. It cut them like butter:

12. Sliding mat for KitchenAid mixer

If you cook or bake a lot and have a mixer out on the countertop (they are HEAVY!), then you'll love this product!

This KitchenAid mixer mat makes it easy to slide the appliance around. You don't even notice it underneath:

You can still mix on high and it will not move around. Love this thing!

13. Avocado keeper

I LOVE avocados and would eat one a day if I could. I've tried so many containers specifically for them and this stretchy avocado pod is by far the best:

The stretchy silicon creates an airtight seal over the avocado, and gives you a couple of days before it goes bad.

Even a few days later, I can scrape the brown off the top and eat the rest of the fruit. Love it!

14. The BEST body lotion

OK, OK...this isn't really a gadget or household product, but I use it every single day and LOVE the scent! It's useful to me because it works so well.

This EOS body lotion is the best and most affordable I've used in a long time:

The scent is heavenly...I wish they had a perfume in this scent! It's so soothing. Treat yo'self! :)

15. Favorite face primer

The only other beauty product on this list is this Elf face primer that I've raved about for a couple years now.

I've tried a bunch of primers and this Elf Poreless Putty Primer is the only one I've stuck with. I opened mine up to show you how creamy it is:

It goes on like a lotion and is so easy to apply, but it's also lightweight and I don't even notice I have it on. This primer is a great base for foundation, but I wear it everyday by itself (after my face lotion).

It blurs pores beautifully and eliminates shine from combo skin.

16. Pretty candle warmers (Prime Day deal!)

This one is as pretty as it functional! I've shared these candle warmers a few times over the years because I love them so much:

It's rare that I light a candle anymore! These plug in warmers disperse the candle scent way better than burning, and candles last forever

Also, it goes without saying that these are safer than lighting, especially if you have animals that bump into or climb on things.

I have a few of these around the house and love the pretty ambient light they add at night.

17. Lid holder for slow cooker (Prime Day deal!)

This product is another one of those things that makes life a little bit easier. If you use a Crock Pot often, you know how the lid gets a lot of condensation on it while cooking.

This slow cooker lid holder hooks on the back of the appliance so you can store it while stirring or serving:

Most of the water goes into the holder and keeps your counters clean! Such a useful little gadget.

18. Outlet night lights (Prime Day deal!)

These nightlight outlet covers are awesome for spots that need a little light at night. The light comes out from the bottom and is just enough to see in the dark:
built in outlet night light

They're automated, so only turn on when it's dark enough (there's a sensor on the front). No electrical needed to install too -- just take the old cover off and snap this one on. (Read the instructions first though.)

It's a nightlight without having to plug something in!

19. Magnetic cord holder (Prime Day deal!)

I've used this little magnetic cord holder on my nightstand for years now and find it so helpful. I used to search for my charging cord every night, and now it sits on this at all times:

It comes with a little magnetic doodad that snaps onto to the charging cord, and then allows you to secure the cord onto the magnetic base.

This gadget would work great on a desk as well. I use it every single day and it helps to avoid one of the most annoying first world problems. :)

20. Under cabinet sliding drawers

If you're like us and have hardly any under cabinet storage in your bathroom, these sliding storage drawers are GREAT!

I searched for years to find something that fit our skinny cabinets on either side of the sink (under the sink it unusable because of plumbing).

These sliding drawers for under the cabinet were the answer and I'm so thankful I found them:

I love them so much I wrote a whole blog post about these awesome sliding drawers. :)

They hold a ton of stuff and slide easily. I reach for something in them every single day.

21. Rechargeable lamps (Prime Day deal!)

Oh how I love these small cordless lamps! They are so lovely for accent lighting in places that don't have a cord nearby.

I have one by the sink for accent lighting at night:
hand and dish soap glass

I liked that small glass and metal lamp so much I got another one to keep on our game table in the basement.

A few months ago I picked up this pretty rechargeable lamp for our dresser:

That one was a little more spendy, but it's bigger and the charge lasts forever on it. It comes with an actual light bulb, so looks like a legit lamp.

I LOVE the soft task lighting these lamps add around the house!

22. Expandable lawn bag

I use this collapsible lawn bag outside constantly. It's great for weeding, trimming and more.

When expanded, it holds a TON:

The handles make it easy to carry around and the bag itself is tough enough to hold up to thorny rose bush trimmings.

My favorite part is how easy it is to store -- when collapsed it's easy to hang on the wall and doesn't take up much space at all:

If you have a gardener in your life, they will love this!

23. LED motion lights (Prime Day deal!)

I regret not adding lighting in our closets when we were building this house. I didn't even think of it!

So I'm slowly adding some rechargeable lighting in each one. When I made over our linen closet earlier this year, I showed you the awesome motion sensor lights I added:
bright LED motion lights

They are SO bright and work great. I rarely have to charge them, and when I do it doesn't take long at all.
The lights stick to a magnetic base, so they're easy to remove for charging.

24. Extension cord with multiple outlets

This is one of my favorite finds in a long time! For years I was looking for an extension cord that had spaced out outlets for our front landscaping during the holidays.

This cord has seven outlets spaced out every five feet, so you can plug in separate strands of Christmas lights along your landscaping with no trouble:
multiple outlet extension cord

You don't have to worry about overloading too many strands of lights together. It would also be great for holiday decor that needs to be spaced out in your yard.

This was a bit of a splurge but it's so useful and makes my least favorite job much easier every Christmas.

25. Waterproof extension cord cover (Prime Day deal!)

Speaking of holiday decor, this is another helpful product that has prevented a lot of headaches! Too often we've had our exterior lights tripped by rain or snow getting in where the extension cords meet up.

At the least, an annoying inconvenience and at most, not safe!

These waterproof plug covers keep moisture out of your extension cord connections:

They come in a bunch of different sizes for outdoor surge protectors as well. They are so handy to have around!
