DIY Purple and Pink Summer Grapevine Wreath

May 05, 2017

Easy summer wreath using fake floral stems and a grapevine wreath.

I try not to buy too much decor specifically for the seasons or even holidays. I like using pieces that can be changed up easily for each one instead. Candle holders, trays, wreaths...all are easy to transition from season to season.

This one is proving to be just that -- so easy to change up inexpensively! I shared this easy DIY spring wreath a couple months ago:

My inspiration was a beautiful $80 wreath and I think mine turned out just as pretty!

When I planted some flowers out front a couple weeks ago I knew I wanted to change it up again for the summer. The white and yellow colors weren't working with the darker tones of the flowers. I had something in mind but it turned out even cuter than I thought it would. ;)

I went to Hobby Lobby when their florals were half off and grabbed four bunches of the geraniums in red and purple, to work with the flowers outside:

I cut them off of the grouping with a wire cutter:

My original plan was to fill the whole wreath like before, but I realized that was going to get a little busy for what I wanted.

Instead, I grabbed this "hi" sign from this aisle at the Hob Lob (half off!) and spray painted it white:

I stuck to one section with the flowers instead of all over (and used less flowers) and then used fishing line to hang the sign in the middle:

Seriously!! I think it's adorable!

Goodness. So cute. It looks great with the exterior and the front door:

And great with the flowers I planted all along the front:

It's been raining for 40 days straight (feels like it) so I couldn't get great shots of the wreath just yet. You can see the flowers in the beds in this post. :)

So easy, so cheap! I spent $15 to update this wreath for the summer. The grapevine wreath (I got mine at Hobby Lobby but you can find them online in different sizes too) allows you to just stick stuff in so there's no need to glue. And it's easy to change it up!

It turned out so cute, I just had to share it with you. Have a great weekend!

  2. Adorable, I love it!! I have never been to a Hobby Lobby, I don't even know where there is one, such a shame. No tender annuals for us yet, as we are dipping down into the 20's Monday. Yikes, even my pansies are going to have a hard time with that one!

  10. I reuse my grapevine wreath also!! I started with Christmas...made a huge wreath and put it on my mailbox. I did a Valentine wreath. Right now I have an umbrella with flowers. Thinking about doing a Memorial Day/4th of July wreath. I love reusing my wreath!!
