The most dangerous spot at Target

Well, those incredibly brilliant people at Target must know this because they are so spot on with some of the stuff in their dollar section right now.
I had to show you some of these goodies in case you haven’t been in. I had gone about six weeks without a Target trip (I KNOW!) and now I’ve been there three times in a week (partly to pick up some more of the things I’m sharing today).
First of all, I must tell my Canadian readers that you may want to look away…this may be too much for you. I hear Target came and went pretty quick, what’s up with that? I cry for you Canada.
OK, here are some of my favorite little finds from the infamous “dollar spot.” These little pails are just the cutest:
They had solid colored ones as well. I came up with a fun little project to use these for that I hope to get done today. I love the colors on them…LOVE. That watercolor look is huge right now and I’m obsessed with it.
These jars are actually $3 for the two:
I’m not a huge aqua fan but when it comes to jars I can’t resist. I got three sets of these over the past week, and I may go back for one more aqua set. I plan to use them in the loft when it gets a makeover sometime this year. (These jars are super popular and no one can find them anymore! These blue Ball jars cost more but are even cuter.)
I always pick up a bunch of notepads – even though I already have a eleventy billion of them:
They’re hard to resist, right? I also grab them for quick teacher/friend gifts too.
I do the same with the pen and pencil sets. They had so many cute office supplies that matched:
So fresh and pretty! Pens and pencils are another item I can’t resist.
They had some cute crafty supplies too. I picked up these three:
I love those little stamps – I got some from the dollar spot years back but lost some of the letters. These are a little bigger than the ones I had before.
And finally, I picked up a couple of these cute little planters with the chalkboard too:
They had aqua and pink as well. Precious.
I used my clear jars for oats and chocolate chips (ingredients for my peanut butter energy balls, yum):
And I placed the burlap “S” in my boxwood wreath on the pantry for now:
I’m hoping to add it to a front door wreath eventually, but first I have to decide what will go on the front door. ;)
Have you visited this little (evil) spot of Target? It’s ridiculously fun. And dangerous. You’ve been warned. Have you found any great goodies there lately?

I hear ya! The Target dollar spot gets me everytime! I love those jars and that cute white planter. Can you guess where I' going on my lunch break today?!?! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI believe that I have the same rubber stamps, but paid a lot more for them at one of the craft stores. Good find, but my favorite are those cute little pails. Since that section of Target can cause quite a dent in my wallet I try to look the other way as I walk by. :)
ReplyDeleteUgh- Target $ spot!!!! I love it so much!!! I must go get some of those jars- and probably the burlap letter for my spring wreath! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteLOVE!! Those jars are awesome-- I need :) haha
ReplyDeleteI bought several of the white/galvanized pails for my pantry make-over. I threw all those Crystal Light drink sticks in one and then stuck a chalkboard label on it. So much cuter (and waaay more organized!) than all those little boxes. Can't wait to see what you're project it. Oh, and I'm on my way to get some of those jars. Right. Now!
ReplyDeleteMy Target is 4 hours round trip. I know. How do I survive? Making a run in about two weeks and I can not wait!!!! I'm bring 5 million dollars with me :) Cute stuff girl, thanks for the Monday morning tease ;) hehe
ReplyDeleteI'm probably one of few people who can and do avoid the dollar spot. The only time I look is when I need lots of little gifts for many. Even when the daughter is looking at the dollar spot, I'm able to resist.
ReplyDeleteI am in Canada watching our Target stores close (sad!) But they never actually had the cool stuff in, until now, when they are liquidating, and the shelves have never been so full. No chance they would likely get any of the stuff you have featured, but I can hope, and hope that that will still be there next time we head out for cross-border shopping ...
ReplyDeleteLOL....yep that section gets me everytime but you can pick up some really cute items there. And you did really good with your purchases.
ReplyDeleteI am a total sucker for the dollar spot. I also can't resist the notepads and office supplies either, my desk drawer is packed full, but they have so many cute ones I can't help myself!!
ReplyDeleteSeriously have to make the one hour trip out to Target/ Love the letter and those jars!!! drool!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree...I can spend thirty minutes just browsing there. I love Mary Engelbreit things and once upon a time I could find great deals on her things there.
ReplyDeleteSo I love the white planters sooo much I went to TRY to order them online since I'm not that close to a Target store... and of course they're not online. :(
ReplyDeleteTracy if you see this let me know and I'll send them if I find more!
DeleteI've been avoiding Target for a while - too tempting. I have a loooonnnggg windowsill that would love to have some herbs sprouting up right now (east sun, got the seeds - what am I waiting for?) Those planters look beautiful.
ReplyDeleteConcerning those pails - they would be great for plants (holes drilled for drainage) or to hide candles in the summertime, or as sorters. Ok, let me explain. I've found nice plastic buckets in the same Target $ spot. Since they are different colors - one is for trash, another for shred and the last is for recycle. As I am going through mail, I can divide everything. Then, I deliver everything to their spot and then restack them for the next time. Since they are smaller than normal, it gets me up and moving for a few minutes during my workday. It's not good to be sitting for too long of a time! I have a set for my office and my kitchen where I sit to check out the mail. Just an idea for y'all.
Finally,(apologies to the hostess for talking too long), has anyone tried the Surefit sofa slipcover? I'm wondering if they work and if it is worthwhile to use for a seasonal color change.
Ok - one more thing - the Sunday flyers had a $10 off coupon for household cleaning brands.... darn, another reason to go to Target.
Yep, I love that section. I had to pick up a few water color thank you cards and notepads. I did not see those pens though. :( The as-is section at Ikea is another favorite place of mine. :)
ReplyDeleteI also am obsessed with the dollar section at Target! Looks like I will be making a trip there soon. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI got two of the chalkboard pots (aqua and pink) and a small clipboard and those wooden picket fence trays. I couldn't find my initial (our Target was very picked over) and I was bummed about that. I also got a couple of the spring colored votive holders they had and love them. I wish our next biggest town had more than one Target because it stays picked over. The town neighbors one of the largest Army military bases and it seems like the population is crazy overcrowded at times when the troops are home. I am glad they are home but man....it makes it hard to find all the Target goodies. LOL
ReplyDeleteI already have Target on my "to do" list today, I hope they have those pens and pencils at my store! :)
ReplyDeleteI was just there on Saturday and came home with a whole sack of stuff.
ReplyDeleteFound the same exact pails this weekend and posted it on my blog too! Love everything especially the cute pens.
ReplyDelete"eleventy billion" notebooks...you and me both! I have those jars and I use them for smoothies. I make a batch on Sunday for the week and store in jars in the freezer. I want to get the chalkboard pots..I recently bought tons of herb plant seeds that I need to plant.
ReplyDeleteThat's always the first spot we hit when we walk in the doors! I have some of those tins from Valentine's Day. I used them instead of gift bags, for my kids' Valentines. I have no idea what to do with the littlest guys' tins (my older girls use theirs on their dressers). I have a turquoise one with silver spots and a silver one with green spots.
ReplyDeleteI also love those alphabet stamps. We made invitations recently with them. We hand-stamped oversized kraft gift tags with the party info for a more rustic look. The more imperfect, the better!
I love that letter you go. I should get one for my wreath! Genius!
Hey! You have European readers too!
ReplyDeleteWho also wish Target would expand ;)
Cute finds. I'm Canadian (and extremely sad!), but Target isn't closed yet. I also bought the two for $3 jars in the aqua and pink. Love them.

Ah! This is a problem. I've been pretty good about avoiding Target lately (even though it's less than a mile away!) but holy cow those pens, pads, and jars are so cute. And I love the letter stamps. My kids would have a field day with those! And perfect for Easter baskets. DANG IT! lol. And now I kind of want to put my chocolate chips in a cute jar and put potted herbs on my counter. Except I don't have space. So cute!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree!! I have more pens and pencils than I need, just because I see something CUTE there!
ReplyDeleteThe Target that came to Canada had the same sign on the door but was not the same store otherwise. It's absolutely no loss that it is leaving. They had empty shelves and high prices.
ReplyDeleteI love the clear jars! :)
Where did you get the cute fork and spoon hanging over your pantry door? Adorable! Love the burlap initial inside your boxwood wreath.
ReplyDeleteThank you! Those were thrift store finds that I spray painted. :)
Delete*sigh* I'm SO sad Target is leaving. Anytime anyone brings it up it hurts just a little bit. :( I'm hoping Target.com will work towards allowing us to order online. That may take the sting out a bit.
ReplyDeleteYou do the cutest things with stuff I would walk right by!!! You have a gift!
ReplyDeletewow you have good stuff in your dollar spot...lol
ReplyDeleteDollar Spot is dangerous in a clutter sense too. :) I should stay away right now. I am still in the purging stage (I think you finished that in Jan or Feb.) and I must heavily consider/ponder things that want to come IN the house!
ReplyDeleteCurrently, things are *leaving* by the trash bag around here. Ahhhh
Trying so hard not to impulse buy and then find a use for the item, instead I'm trying to buy only what I have discovered I need to decorate or organize a certain area.
My Dad is moving into a retirement home, and is giving me lots of heirloom items/antiques and such that I am working to incorporate in to my home right now as well. Oy.
And now you're tempting me. haha
Chrissy
Oh, Yeah! I'm driving the bandwagon for all you other gals who can't resist those memo/to -do-list notepads, and those pens and pencils. Don't need them...just want them! Now I have to go back and get those metal pails just to have some trendy looking place to store those things. What's the matter with us????
ReplyDeleteCute, cute, cute! Can I ask where you got your shelves in your kitchen, the ones with the little white lamp? Thanks.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I got that from Joss and Main. I talked about it a little more here --http://thriftydecorchick.blogspot.com/2014/11/family-room-details-and-sources.html
DeleteIf you search online for it I've found it other places too, even Overstock at one point.
I always end up spending at least $20 at the dollar section...well played, Target
ReplyDeleteNo Target in Ireland either! 😞 great finds, especially love the burlap letter, I could not have resisted these!
ReplyDeleteI could not agree more with this post title!
ReplyDeleteI love Target's Dollar Spot - it's so addicting! And because it's all so inexpensive, there's no guilt :)
ReplyDeleteThe dollar spot gets me every time, especially the office supplies!
