Let’s go shopping at World Market

I’m back with a little shopping excursion to one of my favorite stores. I like sharing spots that I think have great products and prices (and no, this is not a sponsored post!). I’ve shopped Cost Plus World Market for years now but I feel like it’s been over the past couple of years that they’ve really upped their game.
They have the same feel as Pier 1 -- I just find the pieces to be a little more unique and different. It’s a place I like to walk through just to get inspired. I don’t buy something every trip there but I always walk away wanting to buy plenty. ;)
I had to return a few things yesterday so I took some pics as I walked through to show you why I love this place so much!
They always have beautiful rugs – I loved the shaggy diamond patterned one:
They have a great variety in the store and bigger sizes available online. That sheepskin rug is way cheaper at IKEA though. :)
I have so many dang mirrors, I don’t need another one. But both of these catch my eye every time I go in:
I’m always trying to figure out where I could put one!
Their signs and art are fun too – this one is for you if you can’t find an antique antique sign:
It’s really good size by the way.
These glass signs are super cute as well:
I’ve seen the pie one around blogland lately – love them both!
We have a few of their towels – they have the most colorful selection I’ve found anywhere:
That’s one thing you’ll notice in this store – lots of COLOR. I love it.
There are a TON of decorative items throughout too. I loved this wood sconce:
World Market is one of the only places around (other than HomeGoods) that carries furniture you can actually buy and take with you. I got this foyer table a couple years ago:
I adore this table. I added the hardware to dress it up just a bit but otherwise it’s beautiful on it’s own. I love the look of the wood – it’s a natural tone with a little white wash. So pretty.
They have a huge drapery selection too:
But if you need anything longer than 84 inches you’ll have to shop online.
One of my favorite spots in the store is the lighting area:
That one on the left? It’s an exact replica of the Ballard Designs light – this one is bigger than the BD small version and $50 cheaper.
One of my all time favorite purchases from WM is the chandelier over our kitchen table:
I get asked about our kitchen chairs all the time too – those are also from World Market. If you are patient you can get their furniture on sale and they’re always sending out coupons too.
I LOVE their linens – I’ve not found a selection like this anywhere else:
I used their placemats to make most of our outdoor pillows years ago:
WM also has a TN of kitchen and entertaining products:
I can spend a good 30 minutes just checking out all the cute items in that section alone.
World Market also carries a HUGE wine selection and tons of unique and worldly food options. It really is a fun spot to check out! I find their prices to be pretty reasonable and for bigger items I will try to wait till it’s on sale or I have a coupon.
Have you ever shopped this store? We only have one nearby but they do sell online as well.
I met you when you gave away tickets to the Indy Arts and Vintage market. Just to let you know my family moved this summer from Fishers to the Kansas City area. Now you have somewhere to stay if you want to visit Nell Hill's. Ha! Still love your blog and read it every time you post :)
ReplyDeleteI love that store! It's always a great place to find Christmas gifts too!
ReplyDeleteI really wish I had an actual store near me or even semi-near!
ReplyDeleteI love that pie sign too! I ended up making my own : http://rebeccasroundup.blogspot.com/2014/06/i-can-make-that-world-market-pie-sign.html I never thought about WM for curtains, I will have to check them out. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteWe are big time WM faithfuls too. Our dining room table is from there, our outdoor patio set, our old barstools, and some random tables and little decor items. I reallllly wish I had somewhere to put their little gold lotus light though! And I always have some sort of coupon through their Explorer program, or we wait for their friends and family sales :)
ReplyDeleteHa, I spent about an hour (and $80) walking aimlessly through World Market yesterday while my kids were at school. Love WM. I prefer it to Pier One as well. I adore those mirrors you posted, and I spent about 5 minutes staring at a gorgeous colorful kilim rug yesterday, mentally trying to find a place for it in my house. That store gets me in trouble. ;)
ReplyDeleteWorld Market?? Never heard of it....Just kidding 1/2 my house is from them there. My dining room tables & chairs (love), my dishes, bowls, glasses, serving pieces (love, love) my outdoor sectional (love, love, love) Yeah, me and WM go way back!
ReplyDeleteAlso need to mention, love your built-in and fireplace

Yep, love them! Plus they started stocking Vegemite which has been a lifesaver for our little Australian hearts. We just ran out of our supply that came with visiting relatives. I love all the little kitchen bits and bobs too. I can spend ages in there looking at it all! I have 3 of those blue mason jar drinks dispensers too (long story...). They are so pretty and you can get great stands the right size for them at Target as well. I love that BD style light. Gorgeous!
ReplyDeletelove their curtains and I always get compliments of my living room curtains from there. People are always shocked and surprised at the great price i got them for and they are lined curtains.
ReplyDeletei love your kitchen chandelier!
ReplyDeleteLove World Market! I have one right by me and could just wander around forever. Actually my sister and I have been known to grab some Starbucks and hit World Market and Pier 1 just browsing and getting inspiration. Love it!
ReplyDeleteThese stores do not exist in or closely around NYC, but hey, online shopping! I'm checking it out now :)

The World Markets in the memphis area closed years ago. I miss them!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know there was a store front, I just always shopped online! Thanks! PS. One of the mirrors you love is on sale online right now!
ReplyDeleteI too LOVE World Market. I've been shopping there for years and love to use their napkins and placemats for pillows. I'm so happy to know your chandelier came from there. I saw it the other day in one of your posts and was wondering where it was from. I need to stop by again soon...it's been a while.
ReplyDeleteOh, I adore World Market, too! Our entire bedroom set (the Chase set) is from there, as is our entertainment center, bookshelves, dining table, chandelier.... So great that we both love them!
ReplyDeleteI really like World Market!! But how does one get coupons. I just heard of someone who used a 30% off coupon for a coffee table. I dont seem to get these in my email. I am a WM Explorer. Is that the only way? Or do I need to sign up for something else? Thanks. I heart your foyer table but it is too long for my wall. I am looking for something similar. Question #2: Do you know how to search for images that are similar to a saved image/item? Is that even possible? Thanks. Again, I really love your decorating. Don't think I'm weird, but someday, if you come over to my house (you can if you want to, but I'm in St. Louis), you'll feel vaguely at home :)
