Last year I started my quest to create a beautiful, organized pantry. I want to get a new door with glass panes...but with the seedy glass in them so you can't really see everything inside.
I want a light installed at the top of the pantry (WHY don't we think of these things when we build our homes?) so when the lights are off in the kitchen, I can just turn that on and it will just glow...sigh. I see it all in my mind.
BUT that takes lots of money...
soooooo onto the new plan. I saw
Melaine's new organized pantry last week and it put me into a tizzy. I HAD TO HAVE IT. So I started my thrifty
sleuthing and figured out a way...
I found some big glass containers that were perfect for my quest early this week. I stood in the aisle staring at them for about 15 minutes because they were $8 and not on sale. In the end, I decided to be patient and wait. But then I went to the Deals store and there they were for $5!
So I grabbed one, thinking I'd see how they worked.
Got to the checkout and she says, that will be $1 something...I said WHAT HUH?? I asked about the big $5 tag on them and she said, nope they are ringing up at a dollar!
So I went crazy when I got home...and turned this mess of baking bags and boxes:
Into this organized, pretty storage for our pantry:

The skies open up...birds sing...
You can find similar jars with screw on lids here! Those are just a bit smaller.
Later that day, I went back for more. DRATS they had fixed the price! But the kind checkout lady pointed to some huge plastic containers that were a dollar as well and the skies opened up again.
They were PERFECT for the snacky foods my son eats. This way he can get to them and not have to pick up a five pound glass container. (This is good. Things happen for a reason.)
Then I went to Lowe's and got a piece of plywood cut into five shelves. I found shelf liner and covered them and just laid them on top of the wire shelves (I. hate. wire. shelves.) and this is the result:
Do you hear singing? I hear singing.
I bought
12 inch wood rulers, painted the backs with my extra chalkboard paint, and hung them with ribbon:
You
know I labeled them all with my label maker:
I ended up putting all of the pasta, flour, powered sugar, rice, brown sugar and three containers of crackers and two of cookies into these glorious jars/containers.
I never knew how glorious the container in the pantry idea was -- it's AWESOME. Now I can see what we have and how MUCH we have.
This whole project was $10 for the plywood. Six dollars for glass containers. Six for plastic containers. Five for shelf liner and $2 for the rulers. Cleaning out the whole space and organizing with $29 later, and we have a new organized pantry.
I think it is just great!
ReplyDeleteI love it! I love those glass jars I would have Stocked up also. They are exactly what I want. but know my kids would break them and I would be sooo Sad.
ReplyDeleteI want a great pantry also but nope.
Yours looks great I am jealous and I would hear the singing.
I saw Melanie's pantry last week too. I have been thinking about doing something with mine. Now that I have seen yours, I'm going to have to do somehting with mine. Yours looks great! Love the glass jars.
ReplyDeleteWendy
No, actually, I DON'T think you're a freak!! I don't have an open pantry like that, just cupboards. Lots and lots of cupboards. That are DEEP. I have some pretty glass jars, but um ya, they are hidden by junk. My cupboards are F.U.L.L. I need to go through them. And I've been thinking that every single day.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the ruler idea, by the way. So genius!
Pure awesomeness. Good job girl!
ReplyDeleteWow! It looks great! I need to do this in a bad way, not to mention my closets, cabinets, and drawers. I'll be watching to get more organization tips! Kristen
ReplyDeleteDo you hear singing? I think I hear singing?
ReplyDeleteCan you spell G.E.N.I.U.S. ??? Well you are!

I am so jealous of that deal!! aahh thats awesome! I too am wanting very badly to organize my pantry! You have inspired me as always... :)
ReplyDeleteYou would die if you saw my pantry. (Maybe you will, if I can ever get it clean enough to post about) It is enormous and FULL of food and stuff!
ReplyDeleteI am jealous of those jars and I love the chalkboard signs! Those are perfect, because they allow for reorganizing later, because, I have to rearrange things, all the time!
Great job and great inspiration, as always!
I wish I had a pantry. I have pantry envy. And island envy and stove hood envy and column envy. But that's my list really.....
ReplyDeleteI'm happy you have one! And it looks great!
Jennifer
Wow.. I think it is just great! The pantry looks wonderful! :)
ReplyDeleteOh, boy, do I hear the singing. This is spectacular and I'm in l.o.v.e.
ReplyDeleteI'm sort of a newbie, so what the heck is the Deals Store? :)
I do hope your little one is better soon! LOVE the pantry! Awesome job.
ReplyDeleteOoooh...Aaaah! I completely understand and identify with your eXcitement over this pantry project. I'd be thrilled too. Good job! ThanX for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteThat looks fabulous. I may just have to do this!
ReplyDeleteThe funny thing is I already have the glass jars and I just have not gotten around to it yet! It is one of those projects on my list, this may have just motivated me!
Wow, this is awesome!! I must be a bit of a freak too, because I am totally excited to copy your pantry organization. It looks wonderful!!
ReplyDeleteI am super impressed!
ReplyDeleteHello! I'm new to your awesome blog and I just have to tell ya...I definitely heard birds singing! Lalalala!
ReplyDeleteLove the glass jar ideas. I must implement!
Hope your little one gets better soon!
Wow the organized pantry's are going around! Your's looks great love all the jars. I wish had a Pantry to organize, but alas this old farmhouse has no pantry nor closets. So how do you organize that? :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your pantry!!!! Makes me want to go out and do that :D Oh And I love those glass containers. I have one of my own and I love it!!!
ReplyDeleteOh good, I'm not the only crazy one! I share your insanity for beautifully organized spaces, haha! Oh the pretty, pretty jars of things! It looks fantastic and what a deal!
ReplyDeleteHow about I just end every sentence with an exclamation point to emphasize my craziness! Good idea! ;)
I just found your blog and I'm in love already. Off to read the archives...
Wow! It turned out beautifully. And yes, I DO hear the birds singing. :)
ReplyDeletei Found your blog through a friend and I love it!!!! I'm obsessed with the small areas like the pantry also. it is the most gratifying to me when you are organized. I'm most definantly not perfect. But it sure feels great to accomplish something like that. I love it!
ReplyDeleteI am so jelous!!!!! $1 a piece!?!?!?!? I have been dying to do the same thing that you did to your pantry but don't want to spend the mulla! That is it I am going to the Container Store tomorrow!
ReplyDelete$1?! I would have peed my pants right then and there. Gross... sorry I went there. The pantry looks AMAZING! I saved a picture of it in my "Someday" file... special, right? :)
ReplyDeleteOh, I gotta' copy your idea of putting plywood on top of the wire shelves which I have and hate also.
ReplyDeleteLove this! I want to add this to my to do list! I am organizing freak so this does look like heaven!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea about the rulers!
I love it, adding it to my organizing list of things to do, Great Job!
ReplyDeleteIt looks awesome... love it!! Ok, I have to ask, what is the deals store? Is that what it's called? I want to go there! ha!
ReplyDeleteHey your pantry is the same size & all as mine. I'm so going to reorganize mine this weekend. Thanks for the ideas & motivation!
ReplyDeleteAnd may I ask what the "Deals" store is?
Hey your pantry is the same size & all as mine. I'm so going to reorganize mine this weekend. Thanks for the ideas & motivation!
ReplyDeleteAnd may I ask what the "Deals" store is?
Oh my goodness, your pantry looks GREAT! Mine is a big mess! I need to get some glass jars and get mine looking nice and organized too.
ReplyDeleteGreat project! Melanies pantry is to die for ...and you made it work wonderfully for you at a low cost. Gotta love that ANY day of the week. Thanks for sharing and I adore your 'ruler' labels!!!
ReplyDeleteThat is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You've inspired me. I've been talking for months about cleaning our pantry out...This weekend - it will be done!
ReplyDeleteI think it's awesome! I really don't have a pantry so a couple months ago I added a shelf above a section of counter and made me a baking center. I was so proud of myself and LOVE it and my kids are like "um.. mom... it's not that big of a deal." At the beginning of the month I did my closet to make room for baby and that too sent me over the moon. I even posted about it. (http://mid-lifemama.blogspot.com/2009/01/coming-out-of-closet.html )
ReplyDeleteMy husband was looking over my shoulder while I was reading and was like why don't you do that. I said it costs money and he was like okay. So it looks like this is in my near future. Thanks for the ideas.
ReplyDeleteIt looks great! Love the chalkboard paint on the rulers idea!
ReplyDeleteOh and Melaine's- WOWSER!
My pantry is crying out for some pantry love like yours got!! Wow, that IS amazing.....I'd have gotten fifteen of those little $1 jars!!! Strike while the iron is smokin' hot!!!
ReplyDeletegreat job!
Suzanne
My mom and dad just built their house and have a walk in pantry that I lust over. I don't have a pantry now that we have these new cabinets....the food is all in the cabinets and I hate the way it's set up. Before I had on huge cabinet that I used as a pantry. I LOVE what you did with yours and was drooling over your bargains. What a deal!
ReplyDeleteYour pantry looks great! Not only are you NOT a freak, you're kinda like my idol now...
ReplyDeleteI am ABSOLUTELY inspired to go home and do this to my pantry! I love all of your ideas, thank you so much!
ReplyDeleteWoo HOO!!!!! AWESOME deal on those glass containers!!! WOW! Im working on my pantry too. I just took pictures of my progress on my blog. :) Now Im trying to put it all together using what I already have. Not fun. I want new containers!! I need to run across a deal like you did! The pantry looks GREAT!!!
ReplyDeleteI've been needing to rework my kitchen cabinets...this inspired me to tackle the job! Thanks, and good job!
ReplyDeleteI love what you did. I can also hear the birds singing. Wish I had found a deal like that on the jars. I bought a set of jars at Walmart. Can I say expensive ? I wish the pantry fairy would come and clean mine out. A heads up on the light for the pantry... my sweet hubby bought a gadget at Home Depot that you install in your switch and when you walk into the pantry the light comes on and stays on for so many minutes. It's great.
ReplyDeleteLinda
Love this idea and may have to do the same!!! You have such great ideas and am going to try some! You are an inspiration and you've got me motivated!!!!!!! Off I go to create!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love your pantry! I love that good feeling when things are organized and clean! I enjoy reading your blog for tips. I hope your little one feels better.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing,
~*~Leanne~*~
It looks great. The plywood on the wire shelves idea was great and the rulers painted with chalkboard paint is BRILLIANT!!! That is going on my blog!!
ReplyDeleteYou LUCKY, LUCKY gal! I love finding a store's "screw-up" and taking full advantage of it! OOPS!!! Did I just admit that?! The pantry looks great! I can't wait to see it with the frosted glass door!
ReplyDeleteSarah, there is something totally satisfying about a pantry that looks so beautifully organized. I remember my grandmother's pantry looking like this .... good job!!!
ReplyDeleteI am so inspired right now!!!! HOLY COW!!!
ReplyDeleteThe rulers?! THE RULERS!!
What a GREAT idea!!!!
Oh my gosh- I am so jealous. My pantry is a disaster. I was just moaning about it yesterday. I can't wait to find jars and get started.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, you don't ever need to pay full price at Hobby Lobby. If you get on their website, they always have a 40% off printable coupon. I try to remember to print it out every week, just in case I find something I can't live without.
ReplyDeleteOooh! What fun! I just blogged about organizing my pantry yesterday! I'm so jealous of your matching containers though... My goal was to only use containers I already had around the house, so I used regular tupperware and stuff. I TOTALLY want a light in my pantry too... I was thinking about getting some of those push-on lights with the sticky backs (I've seen them at lowes) and putting them on the walls or the ceiling.
ReplyDeleteOMG... I just died a little. Sorry for giving you a hard time about making me wait! I'll be praying for your little one and the pantry is completely enviable! I think the birds choked to death in the inversion where I live, but I, for sure, am SINGING! :)
ReplyDeleteI hope your little one gets well soon!
ReplyDeleteGreat job on the pantry. I love the chalkboard labels.
Your pantry is beautiful! Love those glass containers. I picked up some like that at Kmart, and they cost a whole lot more than $1 or even $5. Great find. :)
ReplyDeleteHey lady! Just stumbled upon your blog and love it! I bought my home soley for the pantry. I'm a cooking baking nut and never had a pantry to speak of... now I can walk it it (and sometimes I hide in it, lock the door, enjoy the silence while I snarf a couple handfuls of chocolate chips). Hoory for $29 dollar fix ups! The pantry looks great. Good to meet you and look forward to coming back!
ReplyDeleteI do hear singing...and I think I saw some angels flying around too...oh look, there's cupid...wait, what's he doing here? :)
ReplyDeleteYou are so darn cute. I love, love, love what you did in your pantry. And I totally share your excitement that you were able to do it for so little. You ARE a thrifty decor chick my dear.
New to your blog and it's so cute! I wish I had a pantry but I may just have to use this idea for my cabinets. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome. I'm just excited when I can get all of the cereal boxes together, all of the baking stuff together, etc. This idea is great and you made it look so easy!
ReplyDeleteI am SO happy that I found your blog today. My fiance and i just bought our first house, and being the organization freak that I am, I am always looking for cute, new ideas. Your pantry is FABULOUS!! I might have to print it out and put it in my inspiration binder:) Im excited to read more!
ReplyDeleteits beautiful......now you will have me out looking for those jars, But I don't have a pantry, just cabinets is all. Sigh
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the organized pantry! Mine is organized, but not how I would like it to be, so I can't wait to get started!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteDo you have other closet organization ideas/ photos? I have a coat closet that I don't even open because it is the one room in my house that is out of control!
Thanks for the tips. keep them coming!
Oh girl! I heard the singing as well...I'm not afraid to admit it. Love, love, love the new organized pantry! Who says a pantry or laundry room has to be dowdy? No Ma'am. You scored BIG time on the glass jars. Shoulda gotten every single one they had before they fixed the stinkin price! Oh...and I am so gonna copy you on the ruler turned chalkboard label... GENIUS!!!
ReplyDeletep.s. I hope Bub feels better real soon! Poor little guy.
I always see these big, beautiful, fantastically organized pantries and WANT one for myself. WELL, my pantry is the exact replica of yours and I am dying for a minute of free time to do my little thing over! I can't wait. Thanks for the pics and inspiration!
ReplyDeletei think thats cool!! my favorite part is the ruler/chalkboard hung on ribbon which i can't do because i have wooden shelves.. oh well!! it so cute!!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great! I'm jealous of the stores you have access to. What great deals you get!?
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the plywood on top of the wire shelves!! My hubby and I have been planning to remove the AWFUL wire shelves from our pantry. I like this idea better as opposed to ripping everything out. Fast and simple! Your pantry is adorable now. Your a thrifty-genius!!
ReplyDeleteYour pantry looks really good. I'm with everyone else that says--way to take advantage of a store's screw up!
ReplyDeleteOne thing though, is that all you have in your pantry? Mine's a formidable mess of soup cans, canned vegetables, jello boxes, and ripped open cake mixes (thanks to #4 little boy).
I. Am. So. Jealous. I don't even HAVE a pantry to organize! Deep sigh.
ReplyDeleteI love your pantry and I so completely understand you wanting it nice and organized and pretty! You succeeded! I love the chalkboard rulers! I wonder how I can work those into mine.
ReplyDeleteIf you wanna take a peek it's here... http://happydaisyaz.blogspot.com/2009/01/project-365-day-12.html
It was one of the things that made me want this house!
The pantry looks wonderful. I love using glass or plastic jar as it makes it so much easier to know if I am running low on something. The chalk board ruler idea is brillant. I have a bunch of paint sticks that I may be able to use like you did with the rulers.
ReplyDeleteRenee
Okay, so every time I see a four pack of rulers at the dollar store I think, "There's gotta be SOMETHING I can do with these." Brilliant. Except mine would have to be removeable for when I rearrange things like once a week. Okay, exagerrating. Once every other week. And there's NO WAY that my family of seven could survive with that amount of food...especially since 99% of my meals depend on mixes/premade sauces etc etc etc. I know, you're totally jealous of my mad cooking skills.
ReplyDeleteI need a pantry like that! I didnt' know there were other people in this world that get crazy excited over buying organizational items! I don't feel so alone! I'm off to figure out how to do this with my pantry!
ReplyDeleteSue
Your pantry is fantastic!
ReplyDeleteI love your writing style. You make me laugh! :o)
I love a good-looking pantry too. Ours is a small walk-in one and I finally repainted all the shelves over Christmas and I've been collecting glass jars for a while now, buying ones here and there when I can afford it. Now I just have to fix up the door with mesh inserts (our whole house is a do-upper) and I'm done.
ReplyDeleteI love to gorg org! You always find the best things and create cool stuff! And I have to say that I'm a little jealous of the sparseness of the pantry - mine is bursting at the seams and I'd rather a more empty pantry cause then I can find things. I want to only buy what I need and instead I buy tomato sauce every stinkin' time I go to the grocery because I can't remember if I'm out..how dumb. 37 cans of tomato sauce later....
ReplyDeleteI wanted to tell you how sweet your comment was that you sent me recently. Made my heart all warm and fuzzy that you "noticed" I hadn't been on blogger in a bit. ;) Thanks!
I love your fabulously organized and pretty pantry! I'm seriously jealous. I need to do something with my pantry now. :)
ReplyDeleteI hope your little guy is better very, very soon!!
First - Oh my GOODNESS! I hope he's feeling better ASAP!
ReplyDeleteSecond - Not weird at all. My dream pantry is actually a room. A mud room with ample storage and mats for muddy shoes. It has lovely open shelves and a sunny exposure... Sorry, what? I drifted away there for a minute...
And can I just say, third - Have you considered writing a book?
No, really. Consider it. I know there are a lot of organizational how-to's out there, but you have an extra dose of style that makes it so much cooler.
Now that is my kind of madness! Boy can I relate. I'm so excited for you. It looks awesome and I LOVE the cute little chalkboard labels. Very, very clever!!
ReplyDeleteLaura
Popped over from Amy's (Life with the K's) because I noticed your post's title. I am in pantry creation phase. It is a completely open space that will have shelves of some sort soon (and can be viewed on my blog as evidence!) I liked the ruler idea! Thanks for the tip!
ReplyDeleteI was going to organize my pantry for your Linky party! Then I had no idea where to start and did some research finally last night and came up with nothing.
ReplyDeleteAnd look! Here you are today with just what I needed!
Yeah! I will work on it this weekend! I hate my wire shelves too! Good idea!
I think it's fabulous...both you and Melaine have inspired me. Only one problem...no pantry. You bet I'll figure something out now though!
ReplyDeleteFYI...several months ago on Martha, she was talking about the same glass jars. A viewer had asked what all the containers were she had filled with candy on the set. She suggested spray painting the lids to match your kitchen/storage etc... I did it and it worked wonderfully. Just in case you are inspired to do more or to leave some out in your kitchen. :) Oh, and these can be found at Walmart also.
ReplyDeleteI have the exact same jars in my pantry maybe I should take a picture of them and send to you.
ReplyDeleteThat looks awesome! And I like how your shelves are divided by dinner, lunch, snacks, etc. I've been trying to organize mine and can't find good categories. I'm gonna copy you!
ReplyDeleteLOVE IT! I went through a phase where I wanted the tupperware pantry pieces, but for the last many years I love the simplicity of the glass jars.
ReplyDeleteWe actually plan to be home this weekend, so maybe it's a good time to go shopping for pieces!
Nice! I put our coffee in glass jars like that and want to get more for our flour, sugar etc. Isn't it nice to open the door and see it all organized?! :)
ReplyDeleteYou are so clever (and funny) and I totally get your enthusiasm!!
ReplyDeleteWarmly,
Tracey
P.S. LOVE your ruler/label/chalkboard paint trick.
Love it! I have a big, unorganized pantry & have never really known what to do with it. I never would have thought to turn the containers on their sides. Great idea! I'm almost done reorganizing the master bath...kitchen is next (after the laundry room haha).
ReplyDeleteLove it! I have a big, unorganized pantry & have never really known what to do with it. I never would have thought to turn the containers on their sides. Great idea! I'm almost done reorganizing the master bath...kitchen is next (after the laundry room haha).
ReplyDeleteWow, I LOVE it!
ReplyDeleteI hope your baby get better soon! It seems like we are on breathing treatments from November to april!
ReplyDeleteI am excited about it! I just cleaned out my pantry last night and wish I had some containers to organize with. I love the rulers/labels. Great job!
ReplyDeleteHi Sarah,
ReplyDeleteYou have inspired me to reorganize my lined closet! Thanks for all your great ideas!
I have 2 blog awards for you...stop by my blog to receive them.
Have a Happy Morning,
~*~Leanne~*~
Oh no girl, Pantry, yes! My mind was just drooling reading this post. I've got those same glass canisters on my counter. They are so pretty, eh? And you deserve such a high five for the ruler idea! Oh my goodness, you are too creative! Love it all! Great post!
ReplyDeleteAnd so sorry to hear about your little man. I'll keep him in my prayers.
Oh my gosh. Where do you find the time and energy! You seriously have my dream pantry. I love things organized and in their place. I would be in heaven! I hope your little boy feels better soon!
ReplyDeleteYou are my hero.
ReplyDeleteIt looks AWESOME!!!! Love it!! Great deals too!
ReplyDeleteThe pantry looks fab!! Oh my goodness-- you so scored on those $1 jars!! =)
ReplyDeleteHope your little one is on the mend soon.
I'm with you! I HATE those wire shelves... Gerrrr! (A man must have designed them!) We replaced all the closet shelving in the house in one year’s time... I couldn't handle boxes; bottle falling everywhere or falling through the wires. Also the towels and clothes had lines on them... Great idea on your pantry re-vamp!! Just AWESOME!! Thanks for letting me vent.. LOL ! :)
ReplyDeleteHa! At this point, I'd drool over a pantry. Let alone a beautifully organized one! In my dreams. ;) I had to laugh when I saw this post because we have a tiny kitchen with no pantry so I actually have a large tupperware bin in the garage where I store our extra staples like pasta and cereal. I went out last night to get a box of cake mix and realized that my pantry bin was missing. My hubby and I were totally perplexed until we realized what happened. The production crew (we taped a TLC show at our house a few weeks ago!) must have accidentally packed up our food bin with all of their bins full of sound & production equipment. I have a call in to hopefully get my "pantry" back. Ha! ;) Your pantry is won.der.ful.
ReplyDeleteVery cute. I opted to have my hubbie make me u-shaped shelving in what was once a coat closet that was converted into a pantry somewhere along this home's history so that I can see everything at all times because it is so deep. I also had him build me a drawer in it - love that. I have a baking goods specific cupboard, but he doesn't have a clue what goes where. lol.
ReplyDeleteOh wow that looks like so much fun!
ReplyDeleteI love, love, love it. You need a pantry 7 times that size though, after you go shopping of course because you are bare right now. I am a stockpiler so I have soooooo much stuff. I am loving your organization though. It is fab as always.
ReplyDeleteI think your pantry looks great!
ReplyDeleteYou are SO totally organized now! I'm impressed. I'm also going to try out some molding ideas here at my house & very inspired by what all you've done at yours. I'd love to have my own nail gun...maybe one day!
ReplyDeleteI pray your child is on the road to recovery :-)
ReplyDeleteOne word about your pantry...DANG! You've got one creative soul on your hands missy...it must be hard to find things to satisfy it on a daily basis lol
Looks so wonderful! I hope your little man is feeling better soon!
ReplyDeleteI'm drooling over that well organized and stocked pantry! Thanks for the ideas!
ReplyDeleteAs if you need the 112th comment... but I couldn't resist! I love it!!! I am LOVING all of your stuff. Thanks for sharing!!!
ReplyDeleteAs if you need the 112th comment... but I couldn't resist! I love it!!! I am LOVING all of your stuff. Thanks for sharing!!!
ReplyDeleteYou won an award! Congrats!
ReplyDeletehttp://iris864.blogspot.com/
LOVE your ideas.....awesome
ReplyDeleteI think this is totally awesome. I just happened upon your blog from a friend's blog. I think I am going to follow you now. I love your blog.
ReplyDeleteReally liked reading this post. Good job on your pantry remake...
ReplyDeleteOOOH...AHHHH! Looks awesome! Love the glass containers!
ReplyDeleteOh man, my small pantry so needs to be cleaned. As soon as I get some money and find a good deal I am stocking up on containers. I've been wanting to do this for a year. I think the money I save in keeping things fresh and knowing what I have will make it worth it in the end. Not to mention how great it looks. Congrats.
ReplyDeleteOMG! Our pantry is just like yours and all weekend long my hubby and I have been gripping about those wire shelves! THanks for the inspiration and as soon we get ours done I will post and link back here! Thanks again for another great project!
ReplyDeleteThis is the absolute best thing I have seen in a while!!! Too freakin cute...I really can't wait to try this in my house. I have wire shelves too!!! And the rulers...words can't even describe!!!!
ReplyDeleteJust an idea, but you should take your trusty hot glue gun (or staple gun), some trim or fabric and add it to the edges of your plywood to totally hide the wire shelving you don't like. Love your blog, it is now on my favourites. Sooooo many great ideas. Thanks
ReplyDeleteLove the pantry and the glass jar container for 1.00.
ReplyDeleteSee my whole house sometimes looks like your house and instead of cleaning the house....I will do a pretty closet. My hubby just shakes his head ans says "no one sees the pantry...um...look at the living room!" I say...i see the pantry and it maks me smile everytime I open it...the livingroom gets cleaned and then it a mess 24 hrs later....
you are hilarious and your pantry is beautiful!
ReplyDeletewhat is the "deals" store???
I think this is awesome! You totally have inspired me! I want to do that too! I am off!
ReplyDeleteI think I am falling in love with you...or at least your home..well OK...your pantry...LOL.
ReplyDeleteI love the jars. I went to Ikea and bought a gazillion small glass jars and put all my spices in them..and labeled them of course...and the birds sang..and then I gave some to my BFF for her birthday and her birds sang too...LOL
This is pure genius. Pure genius, I tell you! I LOVE LOVE LOVE the ruler idea. I so envy your pantry. I have a large kitchen but no official pantry. I'm making do with some lovely IKEA shelves and containers though.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!
"Lord, I too, want the birds to sing when my pantry is as beautiful as this one" -- AMEN!
ReplyDeleteGreat job - Flour and sugar officially dumped into glass container bayyybe!!!
This is my DREAM pantry! I looove it. Unfortunately we live in an apartment with a teeny tiny kitchen so our "pantry" is really just 2 stuffed to the max little cupboards. One day, though, I'm aiming for a pantry that looks just like yours! :)
ReplyDeleteAHHHHHHH!!! I JUST stumbled on your site and on this post! I am IN LUB with your pantry and it is SO EASY!!!! Thanks for sharing!!!
ReplyDeleteI spent forever searching kitchen posts to see what you did to your pantry shelves and I'm glad I did! I don't like my wire shelves either, nothing sits right on them! I have a pretty big pantry, so might take some convincing of my hubby... but I really want to do this. Thanks for the great idea! :)
ReplyDeleteLOVE this! I have those Anchor Hocking glass containers, too. I'm in the process of banishing my beautiful, plastic, stainless-steel-looking Tupperware canisters that store my dry goods because they are old & glass is healthier than plastic. I was so frustrated looking for well-sealed, wide-mouthed glass jars in the right size for months. I finally found them in Target for $5... then angels started singing! ;-)
ReplyDeleteFYI, if you can't find them in stores, the Anchor Hocking site has 3 packs of those "cracker jars" (3 different sizes) on sale for $10.
ReplyDeleteI forget to mention that I scored a great deal at Goodwill the same day that I found those cracker jars... 4 vintage? Arc France glass storage jars (the kind with the canning/rubber ring & lever-closure) ranging in price from $1.75 to $0.80 (the largest one is 3 L). They have a blue painted strip around the middle! You KNOW I snatched them up!!!
ReplyDelete
